Educator in Creativity, Media, Design & Communication

I deliver workshops in media, design, and communication—helping people think clearly, develop original ideas, and confidently produce creative work.

I work with schools, universities, vocational training centres, and organisations, delivering tailored programs and multi-modal workshops—sessions designed to pivot fluidly across creative disciplines. This allows students to experiment, play, and find the creative voice and medium that best aligns with who they are.

  • Workshops and short courses blending hands-on making with creative exploration

  • Process-led teaching that focuses on how ideas are developed, not just executed

  • Cross-disciplinary practice spanning design, media, technology, and storytelling

  • Designed for universities, schools, vocational centres, and institutions seeking to deepen creative education

  • Lifelong fascination with education, neurodivergence, and the creative mind

  • Strong advocate for student wellbeing and fostering inclusive learning environments

CORE PRACTICES

Workshops designed to help students find their unique voice

  • Art and Design

We use design to clarify ideas. Learn visual structure, intentional use of layout, typography, and imagery, while focusing on how your designs communicate clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Narrative Storytelling

We build stories through film and photography. Explore narrative rhythm, visual sequencing, pacing, and editing—moving from initial concepts to finished, shareable pieces of work.

  • Creative Confidence

Find your voice through guided, practical exercises. Develop skills to confidently generate original ideas, embrace experimentation, and create meaningful projects without pressure.

  • Tools Through Time

Explore media from analogue to digital—typewriters to VR —to understand how each shapes thinking and storytelling. Learn to combine old and new tools creatively in your projects.

TOOLS THROUGH TIME

Framing creative work within time, culture, and perspective

We explore how creative tools—from the earliest forms of mark-making to generative AI—shape the way we think, make, and express. This is a hands-on, process-based journey through materials, media, and methods that have defined visual culture.

  • Working with techniques like drawing, collage, and photography

  • Exploring the history of film, graphic design, and culture

  • Understanding how each tool shapes meaning, identity, and authorship

  • Using media as both creative material and cultural reflection

  • Learning how to incorporate effectively generative AI into our practice

  • Building confidence across old and new technologies to develop an original creative voice

HOW I TEACH

Process-Based Learning

My teaching method is grounded in active engagement and thoughtful reflection. Students learn by doing—trying things out, making mistakes, and building confidence through practical experience.

  • Learn through hands-on experimentation

  • Reflect openly on successes and challenges

  • Build confidence through regular practice

  • Develop original thinking rather than imitation

  • Use mistakes constructively as part of the learning process

MEDIA SHAPES THINKING

Understanding Through Making

Different media shape how we perceive, think, and communicate. My approach helps students become aware of these differences, enabling them to choose the right tools for their ideas.

  • Drawing & Sketching – visualising thought, clarifying concepts

  • Photography – developing presence and perspective

  • Design – structuring complex information clearly

  • Film – building narrative through visual storytelling

  • Writing – articulating ideas with precision and clarity

LEARNING TO PLAY

PLAY, HOLD, ITERATE

Developing a strong creative practice is about learning to navigate three essential modes: when to experiment freely (play), when to pause and critically assess (hold), and when to thoughtfully revise (iterate).

  • Play means exploration without judgement—making freely, testing new ideas, and allowing unexpected connections to emerge.

  • Hold means stepping back, reflecting clearly, and taking stock of what’s working, what isn’t, and why.

  • Iterate means refining ideas based on careful reflection—clarifying, improving, and building on what's already strong.

WORKSHOPS AND PROGRAMS

From workshops to full programs.

I design and deliver workshops and programmes that fit your context, audience, and objectives—whether it’s a one-off workshop or a comprehensive course.

  • Single-session workshops (1–3 hours)

  • Short courses (4–8 weeks)

  • Semester-length programmes

  • Guest teaching and residencies

  • Online, in-person, and hybrid formats

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN EDUCATION

Fostering a culture of care for students and faculty.

I prioritise creating supportive, inclusive learning environments. My focus is on emotional intelligence, clear communication, and helping students and staff feel comfortable and confident.

  • Calm, supportive classroom management

  • Understanding and accommodating neurodiversity

  • Embedding mindfulness and self-awareness practices

  • Creating emotionally safe, inclusive spaces

  • Supporting both student wellbeing and faculty development

FROM PROCESS TO OUTCOME

Making it happen.

Completing creative work can be challenging. I provide clear, structured support to help students see their projects through—from initial concept to final presentation.

  • Guiding students from ideas to completed projects

  • Helping build final showcases, portfolios, or presentations

  • Offering practical support in project planning

  • Encouraging reflective practice and thoughtful documentation

  • Ensuring students produce work they’re proud to share
